Dundalk Chamber Issue Warning to Government

Brexit now threatens every business in the area and as a result the business and wider community faces a significant threat over the next year.

That was the fresh warning this week from Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, after the British government admitted it may renege on elements of the Brexit agreement signed with the EU earlier this year.

‘The Chamber has worked closely with Louth Leo, Enterprise Ireland and InterTrade and with our own Skillnet Training to prepare Louth Businesses for the upheaval we all fear. The Chamber continues to emphasise the need for all to prepare by identifying problems and addressing them. We have over the last four years run a Brexit Conference with Newry Chamber bringing all the advisors together to meet business,’ said spokesman, Paddy Malone.

He added: ‘As with all crises there will be some opportunities as well but the challenge is to recognise and implement a strategy that will allow the opportunity to be maximised.’
